Production

Expom Kwidzyn EU is a manufacturer of starters and alternators. Our machine facilities include classic lathes, hydraulic eccentric presses, automatic cleaning cabinets, coil winders, welding machines, metal grinders, a series of diagnostic devices for rectifier systems, voltage regulators, and electromagnetic switches. These machines are used for the production of starter and alternator components.

We also design and manufacture tools for production: injection moulds, punches and dies. We work with companies that support us in the field of chemical-thermal treatment. We have qualified and experienced staff that can solve any problem and awaits new challenges.

Remanufactured

Starters and alternators undergo technical tests before being delivered to the customer. In addition to visual and dimensional inspection, each product is tested on special stations that simulate operation in real conditions.

Individual numbers are assigned after a positive test result to trace the entire production and restoration process.

We have high-end testing devices, including by DV Electronics from Canada:

  • ST 16 for testing starters up to 3.5kW
  • ST24 for testing starters above 3.5kW
  • A device for testing the alternators with a current capacity of up to 190 A
The scope of electrical test performed for 100% of our products:
  • alternator: excitation rotations (start of charge), adjustment voltage, current capacity at individual alternator speeds, rotations after excitation
  • starter: idle current, idle speed, maximum power, voltage drop on electromagnetic switch contacts, electromagnetic switch pull-in and hold-in current

Testing

The products restored by Expo Kwidzyn EU undergo a series of industrial processes that do not differ in any way from the procedures applied by world leaders in restoration. Cores go to disassembly, where they are washed and cleaned after dismantling. They are also properly protected against corrosion by suitable inhibitors. Parts which do not pass the OE standards are qualified for replacement with new ones during verification; others are subject to restoration. EXPOM Kwidzyn EU has professional equipment for testing parts such as electromagnetic switches, rotors, stators, rectifiers or voltage regulators. After assembly, each product is subjected to a series of technical and strength tests. Technical tests include the verification of compliance with the catalogue (dimensions, connection terminals) and assembly quality. Strength tests, i.e. electrical tests, are used to examine the following: excitation rotations (start of charge), adjustment voltage, current capacity at individual alternator speeds, rotations after excitation in an alternator or idle current, idle speed, maximum power, voltage drop on electromagnetic switch contacts, electromagnetic switch pull-in and hold-in current in a starter.

Only products restored by the industrial method, subject to rigorous final tests, allow us to grant a 24-month guarantee for starters/alternators..

Restoration is also environmentally friendly and is aimed at protecting the environment. Through the restoration process it is possible to save huge amounts of electricity and resources necessary for production, such as iron, aluminium, copper and brass. This reduces the amount of pollutants emitted into the air as a result of production. Annual electricity savings resulting from restoration processes around the world can be compared to electricity produced by five nuclear power plants or approx. 10,230,000 oil barrels, which would be transported by 233 tankers. Annually, the resources saved by restoration globally could fill almost 150,000 rail cars, forming an about 11,100 long train.

Design

A new design is a new challenge. The challenge of achieving a high-quality product at an optimal price. The products are “stripped down” into basic parts. Thanks to our appropriate facilities, experience and technical knowledge, at this stage we decide which components will be manufactured at Expo Kwidzyn EU, and which will be outsourced to cooperators.

Each component is validated to determine its service life. We continuously audit our cooperators. We participate in arranging the production processes and prepare technical documentation for the components used in our products.

A product assembled in this way is subjected to fatigue tests according to the type of operation of rotating electrical machines (S3: switch on, load, stop, break).

These tests make it possible to determine the service life of individual components. At this stage, we apply the Pareto principle to eliminate or improve the components with suppliers to extend the product service life and increase its quality.

Our actions, based mainly on the historical experience of our staff and knowledge, are aimed at offering high-quality products to our customers. Products that will work without failure for years in agricultural vehicles (and other devices).
